History of the Containment Technology System
1969 - Licence agreement with the Nuclear Research Centre Karlsruhe (Germany)
Mr. Andrasfalvy senior signed a licence agreement with the former Nuclear Research Centre Karlsruhe to design and manufacture 2-level HEPA units to filter radioactively charged dust from atmospheric air. Requirements: Technically highest possible filter efficiency and contamination-free handling of the system.
1975 - Research, development and patent applications for selfcleaning HEPA filter units and HEAP filter cassettes
Both Mr. Andrasfalvy and his son transformed this technology applied so far in the field of ventilation into self-cleaning HEPA filter systems for industrial applications.Using this technology, even air with the highest level of dust could be filtered effectively with the highest possible efficiency.Furthermore, contamination-free handling of the system was maintained.
1976 - First applications of self-cleaning HEPA filter units in industry which dealt with dusts hazardous to health in compliance with COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health)
The first customers were those dealing with dusts such as cadmium, asbestos, lead, chemicals, etc. which occurred during production.
1978 - First applications of self-cleaning HEPA filter units in the
pharmaceutical industry.
The manufacture of APIs (Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients), such as cardiac medication, became possible for the first time due to the availability of this technology.
1989 - First development of HEPA filter unit series tailored to the specific requirements of the pharmaceutical industry.
Start of global sales of standardised unit concepts for the pharmaceutical industry.
1991 - First cooperation with laminar flow and isolator
manufacturers
For the first time, it was possible to offer integrated concepts for pharmaceutical production lines. These concepts ensured:
- Effective capture of dust at source
- Protection of personnel
- Avoidance of cross-contamination
- Air management and
- Effective dust filtration and recovery thus became possible.
1993 - Scientific verification and validation of the self-cleaning HEPA filter systems.
In the project “European Research Centre for Air Pollution Prevention Measures“, this system was analyzed, approved and certified as state-of-the-art technology.
2007 - Foundation of Containment Technology GmbH
The new company was founded based on the many years of experience and expertise of Mr. Andrasfalvy, Jr as Managing Director in the preceding years.
The company’s field of activity covers:
- Engineering of tailored turn-key containment solutions for
production lines in the pharmaceutical industry
- Effective dust capture during
– manual handling and
– machine production of pharmaceutical solids - Development of a new generation of HEPA filter units
tailored for the latest requirements of the pharmaceutical
industry - Air Management in production machines and production
rooms. - Validation of integrated concepts in the field of containment
Today: State-of-the-Art 3-D Design and Production – ISO 9001 certified.
Design and manufacture of self-cleaning HEPA filter unit series, developed for the latest requirements of the pharmaceutical industry.
Manufacture of HEPA filter cassettes, developed for application in self-cleaning HEPA fi lter units which are exposed to all levels of dust loads.
